Q. Is it affiliated to any University, AICTE, UGC or Board?
Ans: No, this course is approved by Mercedes Benz India and run by Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha. It is not affiliated to any University,AICTE, UGC or Board. The governing council of MKSSS is empowered to runt this course.
Q. How MBIL supports this course?
Ans: Curriculum design, implementation of self-reliant learning teaching methodology, providing computer based training programs (CBTs), Workshop Information System (WIS) license, two Mercedes cars for hands on experience, Diagnosis software, plant visit, training at dealers’ workshops, scholarships to needy students and many activities.
Q. What is CBT?
Ans: Computer Based Training. Many modules are established by Mercedes Benz for training drive. These are not just videotapes, but interactive programs in which students must answer the questions based on contents. These are properties of MB Germany. Students are allowed to use it freely.
Q. What is student to teacher ratio in this course?
Ans: It is 10:1
Q. How many seats are reserved for MBIL dealers?
Ans: 5 out of 20. These candidates are employee of MBIL dealers.
Q. How many seats are for non-sponsored students?
Ans: 15 seats.
Q. What is the eligibility criterion for admission?
Ans: Diploma or degree in Engineering and Technology approved by AICTE, from Mechanical or Electronics or any allied branch. The branches Civil, Computer and allied branches are NOT eligible.
Q. I appeared for final year diploma but failed in subject(s). Can I appear the test?

Q. I passed diploma and completed three year engineering. Am I eligible for the course?
Ans: Yes. As basic qualification is degree OR diploma.
Q. I completed 12th science and completed four year engineering, am I eligible?
Ans: Yes. There is no need to complete diploma. Basic qualification is degree as well.
Q. I took admission in four year engineering course and appeared final year engineering but failed in some subjects, am I eligible for admission?
Ans: NO.
Q. How many minimum marks the candidates are supposed to seek?
Ans: It is expected to secure 50% marks in theory and practical combined.
Q. What is pattern of entrance examination?
Ans: Multiple choice questions. No Negative marking.
Q. What is the duration of the entrance examination?
Ans: One hour.
Q. Is there any negative marking?
Ans: No.
Q. How to prepare for the entrance examination?
Ans: No specific book is suggested. However books for Diploma are sufficient as minimum eligibility criteria is Diploma.
Q. I am from NON mechanical/automobile background. Which books for automobile related information I must refer for entrance?
Ans: Books of Diploma/ITI course are sufficient.
Q.Being from mechanical background, is it difficult to learn electronics engineering concepts to me?
Ans: This is new domain to you. You have to learn from the basics. One can build confidence to do tasks.
Q. What is the fee?
Ans: The tuition fees is Rs. 1,00,000/-
Q. Which documents I must submit at the time of admission?
Ans: Every candidate must submit
Attested final year marksheet with original for verification
Attested Leaving Certificate with original for verification
Q. Is there any weightage to Diploma/degree/Experience/Age etc.
Ans: No. Only entrance test marks are considered for merit.
Placement / Employment
Q. Is any placement assistance offered?
Ans: Complete placement assistance will be offered to the students by MKSSS and Mercedes Benz. The students are generally offered jobs by Mercedes Dealers and other automobile OEM.
Q. What are the job opportunities for students?
Ans: The students can work with any automobile manufacturer dealer in various capacities. The jobs are related to assembly, quality control, PPC, Spare part management etc.
Q. What job profiles are offered?
Ans: Technician, System technician, Service advisers, Spare part managers or similar jobs are offered. In a three year carrier further, the candidate can gain advanced training and crack examinations.
Q. What is the medium of instruction?
Ans: English.
Q. What is the time schedule of the course?
Ans: 1 Academic Year.
Q. Can I take a part-time job, while doing the course?
Ans: No. This is full time course and will hamper commitment and focus.
Q. Do students visit to Mercedes Benz plant?
Ans: Yes. Its part of the curriculum
Q. Is retest (theory & practical) is taken if I fail in the theory or practical examination?
Ans: Yes. Retest is conducted within 15days. Maximum two retests are allowed. The candidates will be terminated if fails in all the three tests. No fee is refunded.
Q. Is last examination based on all modules?
Ans: Yes. Mechanical, Electronics, Workshop and System module.
Q. Where the Facilitators are trained?
Ans: Mercedes Benz India Ltd Chakan plant.
Q. Is hostel accommodation available?
Ans: Yes. In case of non-availability of seats, assistance will also be provided.
