Course Modules
The Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics is one year course with 4 modules – Mechanical, Electronics,
Vehicle Systems and Soft Skills.
Mechanical Module
- Engine - various modern engines and its functions
- Transmissions, Chassis systems
- Maintenance & Servicing of Modern Vehicle
- Introduction to Workshop Information System (WIS)
- PDI & servicing - Preparation of work plan using maintenance checklist
- Quality services, etc.
Electronics Module
- Basic Electrics
- Wiring Diagram - symbols & designation of electrical components
- Sockets & pin diagrams
- Reading of wiring diagram
- Basic Electronics
- Principle & applications of sensors
- Digital Electronics
- Basics of CAN bus networking of control units using CAN bus
- Location of CAN voltage distributor
- Interior & Exterior CAN.
Systems Module
Vehicle Component Study; Different Vehicle Management System: Functions of Engine management & Emission control management - i.e. Advanced CDI, MESFI, Catalytic converter etc., ESP, ABS, BAS, ASR, Parktronic, SRS, Auto transmission electronic control, Telematics (Basic), MOST, D2B, Auto air-conditioning etc. A test based on Advanced automotive systems, Mechanical, Electronics and Workshop will be conducted at the end of this module.

- Technical Report writing, etc.
Workshop Module
Two week On Job Training (OJT) at dealer's workshop of Mercedes Benz dealers network to perform a maintenance service activity and practice the various aspects of vehicle maintenance.
The progress of each student will be monitored by the ADAM Trainers. A test will be conducted at the end of each module.
Course Aim:
To develop Multidisciplinary Competency amongst the aspiring Engineers to cater to the contemporary automotive technology.
To provide the well trained and employable technical manpower to fulfill the need of skillful human resources to the Automotive Industries.
To develop the Technical and soft skills of the aspiring Engineers in order to meet the requirement of the Industrial sector.
Course Objectives:
After successful completion of the ADAM course, the students will be able to
Remove, install and Repair the various components of the car.
Measure mechanical, electrical and electronics parameters for systems and components used in a car
Carry out PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) and Maintenance of a car.
Read and interpret the wiring diagrams of a car.
Use modern diagnostic equipments.
Diagnose various faults and rectify the same.
Communicate with customers and others for technical issues on the vehicle.
Advice the customers about the service and other issues related to the cars.
Faculty:
Faculty/Trainer working with have been trained on Automotive Mechatronics at Mercedes Benz Plant in Chakan, Pune and have experience of repairing of Mercedes cars and train the technicians.
Course duration: 1 Year
Course fee:
The ADAM course fee is Rs.1,00,000 Rupees Only INR for Indian nationals and US. $ 1,338.25 for international candidates. It can be paid in two installments.
(Scholarship of Rs.50,000 from MKSSS’s) Students have to pay only 50,000/-, and the remaining 50,000/- will be awarded as scholarship from Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha.
Course intake:
20 Students (Girls) for each academic year
Eligibility:
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering /Mechatronics/ Automobile Engineering /Electrical Engineering /Electronics Engineering /Instrumentation Engineering and Allied branches
Certification:
On successful completion of the course, students will be awarded a Certificate in an advanced course in “Automotive Mechatronics” jointly by MKSSS and Mercedes Benz India Ltd. This certificate is a globally recognized certificate where the students will be considered as Certified Maintenance Technicians (CMT) at entry-level.
Admission:
Admission to this course is through ADAM Entrance Test (AET). The test is based on Basic Automotive, Basic Physics, Analytical Reasoning, Engineering Graphics, Numerical Ability, and Skill Test.
AET Examination center:
Due to the Pandemic Examination will be conducted Online.
